Why install underfloor heating in a new build?

At a similar price to a traditional radiator system, you can experience the luxurious feel of warm floors in your new build property.

The well-insulated environment of a new build makes our low-temperature heating systems the perfect choice for energy efficiency and optimum heat output. Renewable heat sources such as heat pumps can also be used with our systems, reducing your fuel costs even further.

My wife and I had bought a plot of land and we’re building our own house. It seemed a no brainer to install underfloor heating at the same time and the guys from Fastwarm couldn’t be more helpful, offering advice and guidance with all my questions

Underfloor Heating in a New Build FAQ's

Can you screed over underfloor heating?

Yes, underfloor heating performs exceptionally well with a screed floor. The screed often used in new build projects can be utilised for underfloor heating installation, making installation highly cost effective.

Both liquid and cement screeds can be used, but liquid screed generally has better performance and response times.

While exact drying times vary depending on project conditions, typically screed dries at a rate of 1mm per day for the first 50mm and 2mm per day for every additional millimetre.

We recommend 50mm for a liquid screed, and 65mm for a sand/cement screed.
