People who own their own property in Rugby, Warwickshire and qualify can now apply for grants to make their homes warmer and more affordable to run.
Grants of £18,000 or less are being offered to fund home heating upgrades for those in the area, including the installation of energy efficient underfloor heating, high quality insulation and renewable technology like heat pumps and solar photovoltaic (PV) panels.
The funding is available through Home Upgrade Grants (HUG), but residents must qualify first. Applicants must own their property and have a yearly income of less than £36,000. Additionally, homes must not have a mains gas connection and have an Energy Performance Certificate rating of D or less.
Alongside eligible homeowners, landlords operating in the private-rented and charitable sectors are also entitled to apply.
The programme is being rolled out by a collaboration between the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA)and Rugby Borough Council (RBC). West Midlands Mayor and WMCA chair, Andy Street, commented on the initiative:
“We’re now able to make grants and expert advice available to homeowners who live in some of the most energy inefficient homes, enabling them to access the support they need to bring them up to modern energy efficiency standards.”
Underfloor heating has proven to reduce annual energy bills compared to conventional heating solutions due to its lower operating temperatures and advanced energy efficiency.
Whether you want to improve your homes Energy Performance Certificate or cut your utility costs down to size, you can count on FastWarm for the best brands of underfloor heating.
