UK housebuilder to include UFH and heat pumps as standard

Prestige housebuilder Redrow has announced it will be introducing innovative equipment including underfloor heating (UFH) and air source heat pumps as standard in all detached homes present in its forthcoming developments. The news makes Redrow the first large firm in its field to make such a move that is in line with the UK Government's aims for a greener Britain and net-zero by 2050.

From this point in time onwards, the property developer will be making greater strides in terms of future-proofing its homes while helping its customers lower the amount of energy that they use by moving away from deploying traditional gas boilers and radiators for home heating.

The pioneering initiative will be implemented on a nationwide scale and sees the company joining the Government’s efforts to make every new build property built gas-free by the year 2025.

Redrow house designs typically feature a greater square footage than many other new build projects and work seamlessly with the latest heat pump technology. To complement these eco-friendlier power sources and open-plan layouts, the housebuilder is taking advantage of the compatibility of UFH. Along with being a desirable heating option for home buyers, the absence of ground-floor radiators provides customers with a more expansive living space.
