Noughties pop singer adds UFH to her Georgian home

Liberty X star Kelli Young is renowned for singing chart-climbing hits in the 2000s, but is also passionate about home renovations.

Young regularly shares progress on her projects via social media using her KelliYoungBuilds account on Instagram.

While she has recently re-joined her group for several concerts, her latest refurbishment endeavour is advancing in the background. No stranger to renovation work, when the band went into hiatus, she managed and advised on multiple builds both for other people and herself.

After buying a mock Arts and Crafts property, she decided to demolish it and build a Georgian-style home in its place, to serve as a forever home for her and her family.

Young is married to renowned songwriter Iain James, and they have twin sons.

Along with the main house, plans also include re-landscaping the four acres it sits on and constructing a music studio onsite. Young’s aim is to restore her family’s work-life balance while creating an environmentally friendly oasis in the country.

As a result, it’s perhaps unsurprising that she has chosen energy-efficient underfloor heating (UFH) for the new property.

Her most recent update on Instagram showed images of the beginning of the extensive installation, which will see the entire house benefit from UFH. Wet underfloor heating systems are popular inclusions in the construction phase of new builds, as their dimensions can be accounted for in plans.
