A five-star glamping and campsite close to Edinburgh was recently awarded best in the United Kingdom.
At the Camping Awards 2024, the Drummohr Camping and Glamping Site in Scotland took home the Campsite of the Year award.
Organised by specialist periodical Camping magazine, the event ranked the Scottish site first after results were counted from a public pole of UK campers.
The prime position of Drummohr puts it next to the beaches on the Firth of Forth, but only eight miles from Scotland’s capital Edinburgh, making it a winning option with voters. However, the site was also praised for its exceptionally friendly staff and impeccable amenities.
Site manager for Drummohr, Angie Purves, commented:

The Drummohr site holds a five-star rating from VisitScotland and includes a selection of options for holidaymakers. These include luxury self-catering lodges with private hot tubs, ensuite bothies, glamping pods as well as grass- and hard-standing pitches for tents and touring vehicles.
It also has newly refurbished blocks providing amenities including free hot showers, an indoor kitchen and laundry for campers, and family-friendly bathrooms with fitted baths. The blocks benefit from luxury underfloor heating (UFH) so the facilities stay comfortable for travellers all year round.
